Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Feb. 7, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Thomas Rickard conducted a check on a vehicle parked at Flag Harbor in St. Leonard on January 30 at 1:00 p.m. The occupant of the vehicle was later found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Rickard arrested Brian A. Willis, 43 of Solomons, and charged him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On January 31 a victim on Bowie Shop Road in Huntingtown advised Dep. Daniel Deakins that unknown suspect(s) caused $1000 in damage to his 1994 Ford box truck when they broke the driver and passenger windows. It happened overnight between January 31 and February 1. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Deakins at 410-535-2800.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: While directing traffic at an accident scene on Grays Road in Port Republic on January 31 at 4:45 p.m., Dep. Thomas Rickard observed one vehicle's failure to stay on the right side of the road. After getting the driver to stop the vehicle, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Dep. Rickard determined, through field sobriety tests, that the driver, later identified as Samuel E. Sewell, 46 of Lusby, was under the influence of alcohol. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected cocaine. Sewell was charged with DUI and possession of cocaine.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: A seventeen-year-old female from Brandywine was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana after Dep. Mark Fitzgerald conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt. 4 at Saw Mill Road in Lusby on January 31 at 7:23 p.m. The juvenile, who had been traveling in her vehicle along with two other seventeen-year-old females and two fifteen-year-old females, was charged with possession of marijuana on a youth report and released to a parent.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspect(s) destroyed three mailboxes on Taylor Lane in Huntingtown causing $240 in damage. Dep. Daniel Deakins was advised by the three victims that they recalled seeing a red vehicle and a black vehicle by the cluster of mailboxes on January 31 between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. ILLEGAL DRUGS: DFC Mark Robshaw conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Thunderbird Drive and Lariat Lane in Lusby on February 2 at 2:00 a.m. The driver, later identified as William R. Hendrickson, 32 of Fallston, Md., was found to be driving while intoxicated and was found to have drugs in his possession. He was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of a schedule IV drug, Darvocet.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: Dep. Brianne Gray conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 5th Street and Bay Ave in North Beach on February 2 at 4:58 p.m. The driver, later identified as Danny F. Jones, 52 of Barstow, was found to in possession of suspected cocaine. Jones was also found to be wanted on an active warrant issued through the U.S. Marshals Service. He was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspect(s) caused over $500 in damage to a large window at Mamma Lucia's Restaurant on Costley Way in Prince Frederick. The owner of the establishment advised Dep. Nicholas DeFelice that the damage happened between February 2 and 3. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. DeFelice at 410-535-2800.
