Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan. 30, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOP: Unknown suspect(s) caused $400 in damage to a home on Balsom Road in Lusby between January 23 and 24 when they spray painted the side of it with black paint. Dep. Thomas Rickard is investigating.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Thomas Rickard stopped to assist a motorist on Clubhouse Trail in Lusby on January 24 at 9:48 p.m. A record check on the driver revealed that her Maryland driver license was invalid. The driver was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine. Rickard subsequently arrest Marla K. Williams, 18 of Lusby, and charged her with possession of cocaine.

CDS VIOLATION: On January 25 at 8:41 p.m. Cpl. Michael Bomgardner conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on northbound Md. Rt. 4 and Parran Road in Lusby. The driver, later identified as Patrick N. Dayton, 19 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was charged with both offenses. A passenger in the vehicle, a seventeen-year-old male from Lexington Park, was charged on a youth report with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and released to a parent.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. John Harms conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on January 26 at 3:37 a.m. on Comstock Drive in Lusby. The driver, later identified as Charles L. Bishop, 25 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and was arrested and charged.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Christopher Wells observed a group of cars parked in a dark area of the 2&4 Liquor store parking lot on January 26 at 10:45 p.m. The occupants of the vehicles acted suspiciously. Dep. Wells obtained consent to search the vehicle from the driver and discovered suspected marijuana and ecstasy, a schedule I drug. Dep. Wells then arrested Phillip J. Rowe, 20 of Washington, D.C., a passenger in the vehicle, and charged him with possession of a controlled dangerous schedule I drug (ecstasy) and arrested Joseph R. Smith, 18 of Glen Burnie, a second occupant of the vehicle and charged him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT: A victim on East Chesapeake Beach Road advised Dep. Justin Livingston that unknown suspect(s) stole between 60 and 80 bronze and steel boat propellers and 30-40 shaft logs from outside of his home between January 25 and 26. The property is valued at $1500. If you have information concerning the theft, please contact Dep. Livingston at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Michael Mudd conducted a traffic stop in the area of Md. Rt. 4 and Old Field Lane in Prince Frederick on January 27 at 10:45 p.m. The driver, later identified as Anthony L. Hose, Jr., 18 of Prince Frederick, was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with both offenses.

THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) stole a custom made business sign from the outside of a pet salon on Bristol Drive in Chesapeake Beach on January 27 at about 5:00 a.m. The sign, Sandy Paws Pet Salon, is valued at $600. Please contact Dep. Livingston at 410-535-2800 if you have information.

DOP: On January 27, Dep. Sarra Daniels responded to a home on Lake Shore Drive in Owings for the report of a destruction of property. The homeowner advised that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) damaged his home by throwing eggs and also leaving a dead animal lying in the driveway. The damage is reported to be $100.
