St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 30, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR CDS IN SCHOOL: January 28, Deputy Jason Graves responded to Chopitcon High School for the reported CDS Violation. Investigation revealed a fourteen-year-old student was caught smoking marijuana in a bathroom stall by a staff security officer. The student was found in possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. The juvenile was arrested, processed, and released to the custody of a parent pending further action by school authorities and the Department of Juvenile Justice.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On January 28, just after 2:00 AM, Deputy Michael Boyer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Chancellor's Run Road and Sayre Drive after observing the driver and an unknown male walking on the roadside, arguing. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as, Robert Steven Kellis, 44, of Great Mills. Kellis was suspected of driving under the influence and submitted standard field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI). He was transported to the Detention Center pending a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

ARREST IN JAN. 22 HOME INVASION: As a result of St. Mary's County BCI detectives' investigation into a home invasion, which occurred on January 22nd on Thompson's Corner Road, in Mechanicsville, they conducted two search warrants on residences in Prince George's County and one in Charles County. BCI detectives determined that Mary Nichole Blackwell-Wade, 34, from Charlotte Hall, who was one of two occupants in the home at the time of the incident, had actually conspired with Tykeya Juanita Brawner, 26, from Golden Beach, Phillip Jerome Ford, 29, from Charlotte Hall, and Connie Jerome Farmer, 22, from Oxon Hill, to commit the crime. All four were incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. In addition Ford and Farmer were charged with 2nd Degree Assault and Armed Robbery.
