Potomac Heights Man Arrested for Sexual Assault in Charles County

LA PLATA, Md. (Jan. 24, 2008)—The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 44-year-old Potomac Heights man and charged him with a third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree burglary, perverted practices, sexual solicitation of a minor, and possession of child pornography. Police say Michael Thomas Bilotti was arrested without incident on Jan. 11.

Police say the arrest was the result of a report of a sexual assault they received on Jan. 7. Their investigation of the incident alleges that a teenage boy was sexually assaulted by Bilotti.

After the arrest, detectives learned Bilotti had an open arrest warrant in Michigan from 2003. They believe he fled to avoid prosecution. Authorities from Michigan agreed to extradite him once local charges have been satisfied.

Bilotti is being held at the Charles County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify any additional victims who may have had contact with Bilotti. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222 or Det. K. Moody at 301-609-6514 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
