Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan. 23, 2008) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Sarra J. Daniels conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Md. Rt. 4 near Huntingtown High School on January 16 shortly after midnight. The driver, later identified as Michael W. Harrison, 40 of Owings, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

THEFT: Property was stolen from inside a pick-up truck while the owner worked nearby on a construction site at Barrington Lane in Sunderland. The victim advised that on January 16 after entering his vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. he observed several items missing. The items, totaling over $800, include an Apple IPod 30 GB, 2 digital testers, one M Tech rechargeable flashlight, a blue handled side cutter, a screw driver and a carton of Marlboro cigarettes. VEHICLE THEFT: A tan 2001 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the Sunderland Park & Ride between 6:30 a.m. and 4:42 p.m. on January 18. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Seth Mitchell at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Mark Fitzgerald conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on January 19 at 10:49 a.m. on the northbound side of Md. Rt. 4 at Parker's Creek Road in Port Republic. The driver, later identified as Richard S. Huff, 19 of Deale, was found to have suspected marijuana on his person. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

THEFT: A victim reported to Dep. David Canning that she was shopping in the Dunkirk Giant on January 19 at around 12:35 p.m. when unknown suspect(s) stole her wallet. The wallet had been inside her purse that was sitting in a grocery cart which she left unattended momentarily. The amount of the theft is $40. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. THEFT: Two thousand dollars worth of equipment was stolen off of a Choice, Inc. work truck on Bugeye Square in Prince Frederick between January 19 and 21. The grill, headlights and side mirrors were taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Carl Fischer at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Dep. Jason Dean responded to Jasper's American Grille in Prince Frederick on January 21 for the report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reported that while he was inside the establishment between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., unknown suspect(s) smashed one of the windows of his Ford Expedition causing $300 in damage. They gained access to the interior of the vehicle and stole a Garmin Navigational System, a Nintendo DS game device and miscellaneous games, and a set of keys for a total value of $490. THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Unknown suspect(s) stole a Samsung T329 cellular phone from an unlocked vehicle that was parked near Peebles Dept. Store in the Fox Run Shopping Center on January 21 at about 5:00 p.m. The phone is valued at $119. Please contact Dep. Sarah Koller at 410-535-2800 if you have information regarding the theft.
