MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan. 17, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF CDS PARAPHERNALIA: On Jan. 10, 1:54 AM, Rt. 4, Owings, TFC Dawson stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Myron Arnell Alston, Jr., 27, of Clinton, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, a CDS smoking device was recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Alston was then charged on a criminal citation with possession of CDS paraphernalia and released to a friend.

THEFT: On Jan. 10, TFC Brooks responded to the 13000 block of H. G. Trueman Rd., Lusby, for a theft complaint. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had stolen two 70’ copper welding wires, valued at $600.00.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Jan. 11, 1:39 AM, Rt. 260, Owings, TFC Dawson stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Timothy Bruce Mobley, 24, of Owings, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. He was then charged with possession of marijuana. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: On Jan. 15, 12:59 AM, Rt. 2/4, Lusby, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, TPR Towers detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and a baggie of suspected marijuana was located on the driver. A search of the vehicle produced a baggie of suspected powder cocaine, a baggie of suspected crack-cocaine, a 9mm handgun, and $2,023.00. A computer check revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen from a residence in Lusby. Arrested at that time for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a stolen handgun were Kyle Jerome Martin, 20, of Lusby, James Jamal Hosea Jones, 20, of Prince Frederick, and 17-year-old Jamarr Jermaine Jefferson, of Lusby, who was charged as an adult. Mr. Martin was additionally charged with possession of marijuana. The monies will be retained pending forfeiture proceedings. After processing, the three were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
