MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 3, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS, OUTSTANDING WARRANT: On Friday, December 28, 2007 at 4:40 pm, Brian Michael Middledorf, 28, of Dunkirk was arrested by TFC J. Linger for possession of prescription medications without a prescription. Mr. Middledorf was operating a red Toyota Camry when he was stopped for suspended registration plates on the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Mr. Middledorf and a check through NCIC/MVA revealed St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and his driving privileges were suspended. Mr. Middledorf was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond hearing.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, December 28, 2007 at 8:23 pm, Francis Terrell Robinson, 25, of Piney Point was arrested by TFC T. Quade for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Robinson was operating a red Ford Mustang on Willows Road when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Robinson was observed throwing a plastic baggie from the vehicle as the vehicle was stopping. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Robinson and the odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from his clothing. Mr. Robinson was detained and a bag of Marijuana was found on the ground. Additionally, a search incident to arrest also revealed Mr. Robinson being in possession of a small baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Robinson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, December 28, 2007 at 9:39 pm, Andrew Edward Goldstein, 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Goldstein was operating a white Pontiac Bonneville when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Mr. Goldstein and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Goldstein was subsequently arrested for DUI. A search incident to his arrest, revealed Mr. Goldstein was in possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ASSAULT: On Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:13 pm, TFC M. Moore responded to a reported disturbance in the 41000 block of Tomey Court in Leonardtown. Upon arrival, TFC Moore made contact with the female complainant who advised she was assaulted by Terrence Wyatt Mentzos, 44, of Leonardtown. Mr. Mentzos was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:03 pm, TFC K. Shughart responded to the Belk Department Store for a reported theft under $100. Upon arrival, contact was made with an employee who advised a 16 year old female juvenile was caught stealing two City by City silver cubic zirconia rings, each valued at $15.00. The juvenile was charged accordingly and released at the scene to a relative pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 9:35 am, Jesse Lee Garrett, 27, of La Plata was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Garrett was operating a blue Chevrolet truck when he and the passenger were stopped for not wearing their seat belts. A routine check of MVA revealed Mr. Garrett's driving privileges were suspended and he was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Garrett was in possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Garrett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

DWI/DUI: On Monday, December 31, 2007 at 9:10 pm, TFC P. Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on northbound Route 235, north of S. Sandgates Road in Mechanicsville. Brendan Douglas Carr, 25, of Bryantown was operating the dark blue Chevrolet Silverado when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Carr was arrested for DWI/DUI. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Carr was in possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT: On Tuesday, January 1, 2008, TFC M. Moore responded to the 46000 block of Hilton Drive in Lexington Park for the reported loud music complaint. Once in the area, TFC M. Moore heard numerous shots fired in the vicinity of the apartments. When he exited his vehicle he heard additional shots and observed Sammy Joe Johnson, Jr., 28, of Lexington Park and a 27 year old male of Rockville standing in the wood line. During the course of the investigation, both subjects exited the woods and TFC Moore made contact with both of them. Mr. Johnson was later found to be in possession of five live rounds to the Industria Nacional De Armas 38 caliber revolver, serial number 035006, he had in his possession. Mr. Johnson was arrested for Reckless Endangerment and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
