Woman Assaulted at Lex. Park ATM Machine in Failed Robbery Attempt


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 20, 2007)—An unnamed 40-year-old female victim was assaulted yesterday evening around 9:00 p.m. at the ATM machine located at the Bank of America on North Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park.

Police say that after the victim obtained money from the machine, a black male, approximately 6'2", wearing an orange knit hat, approached her vehicle, displayed a kitchen knife and demanded the money. The victim refused and a struggle ensued. The suspect stabbed the victim on the arm and then walked away. He was joined by a second suspect as he left the area.

The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel for a small cut.
