LA PLATA, Md. (Dec. 4, 2007) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Dec. 3 at 6:45 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Tasty Chicken located at 335 Smallwood Drive in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed a male suspect entered the restaurant carrying a shotgun, went behind the counter and demanded money from a cashier. The suspect then pointed the gun at a customer and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from him. An employee opened the register and then attempted to fight the suspect. After the brief struggle, the suspect fled the scene through the back door of the restaurant. Officers, including a K9 team, searched the area but the suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a black male between 19 and 25 years old. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has a dark complexion and was wearing blue jeans, a black winter jacket and a black mask. BURGLARY: On Dec. 3 at 6:45 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Festival Cleaners located at 2987 Festival Way in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed suspect(s) entered the business by removing a vent in the back of the building. Once inside, the suspect(s) broke through the drywall and entered the adjacent business, Rent-A-Center. Once inside the second business, the suspects stole more than $10,000 worth of electronics and fled through the back door of Festival Cleaners.
