Rockin' and Reel-In Fishing Contest Winners Announced


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 30, 2007)—The St. Mary’s County Division of Tourism announced the winners of the 2007 Rockin’ and Reel-In Fishing Contest at the prize award ceremony before the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, November 13.

The contest, which ran from Aug. 1 through Oct. 31, awarded prizes for the longest rockfish (striped bass), bluefish, and croaker that were caught in local waters. The contest was publicized throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Commissioner President Jack Russell congratulated the winners. Russell also commended the sponsors for their help with the prizes and promoting the sport fishing industry in St. Mary’s County.

The winners are:
