MSP Reports for Charles County


LA PLATA, Md. (November 30, 2007) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) yesterday released the following incident and arrest report.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On November 29, Trooper R. Wilt was on routine patrol when he was dispatched to MD Route 225 and Myrtle Grove area for a prisoner transport to the Charles County Detention Center for a “Failure to Appear” warrant service. Upon Trooper Wilt’s arrival, he took custody of Jarred Elliott Queen, 41 years, of Indian Head, Md., who was in the custody of the Charles County Deputy for the warrant service. After placing Queen in hand cuffs, he was asked if he had any contraband on his person, Queen stated “no,” and after a pat down of multiple layers of clothing no weapons nor contraband was discovered.

Once Trooper Wilt and Queen arrived at the Charles County Detention Center, the intake guard began a complete secondary search. It was at this time, as layers were being removed, that a reddish, clear plastic baggie containing a white powder residue was discovered in the right front pocket of Queen’s sweat pants. When the search was completed no additional contraband was discovered.

Queen was charged with: did possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia, to wit: one red plastic baggie containing cocaine residue, used to store/ contain/ conceal/ inject/ ingest/ inhale/ introduce into the human body by injection, inhale a controlled dangerous substance of Schedule II, to wit: cocaine, and did possess a controlled dangerous substance of Schedule II, to wit cocaine.
