Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (November 29, 2007) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. James Morgan conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that crossed the double yellow line in the area of Thunderbird Drive near Mesa Trail in Lusby on November 21 at 12:23 a.m. Shawna C. Dudzik, 27 of Lusby, was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. A search incident to arrest revealed marijuana. Dudzik was also charged with possession of marijuana.

DOP: Five hundred dollars in damage was done to the metal fencing that surrounds the tennis courts in the community of Whispering Woods on Sequoia Way in Prince Frederick overnight between November 20 and 21. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Moises Velasquez at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. James Bell assisted Trooper Matthew Murphy on a traffic stop at Rousby Hall and H.G. Trueman Roads in Lusby on November 21 at 11:00 p.m. The driver, later identified as Jonathan D. Kirk, 22 of Baltimore, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC John "Marty" McCarroll conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on November 23 at 6:16 p.m. near Huntingtown High School. The driver, later identified as Nathaniel Barnes, Jr., 31 of Oxon Hill, was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and possession of marijuana.

CDS VIOLATION: Cpl. Robert Selkirk and DFC Richard Woodburn were on uniformed bike patrol in the Fox Run Shopping Center on November 24 at 6:55 p.m. when they observed two men in front of the Golden Chicken Restaurant smoking what at first appeared to be a tobacco cigarette. As the two officers came into closer proximity, they immediately detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana and attempted to make contact with the individuals, who both tried to flee on foot. After a short pursuit, they were both arrested. Marvin W. Brooks, Jr., 24 of Prince Frederick, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of crack cocaine. Patrick O. Bennett, 22 of Chesapeake Beach, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana.
