MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 19, 2007) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 10:28 am, a male complainant telephoned Sgt. R. Redmond at the Maryland State Police in Leonardtown to report a Theft and Malicious Destruction of Property to a construction crane at a construction site off Persimmon Creek Lane in Mechanicsville. He advised unknown suspect(s) broke one of the windows to the crane and stole an AM/FM radio. In addition to the theft of the radio, the Special Mobile Equipment Maryland registration plate was also stolen from the crane. Investigation continues.

SUSPENDED LICENSE, OUTSTANDING WARRANT, DEADLY WEAPON: On Friday, November 16, 2007 at 11:30 am, Dante Deon Thomas, 22, of Lexington Park was operating a blue Toyota Scion on Route 235 in the area of St. John's Road in Hollywood. TFC M. Moore initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for exceeding the posted speed limit. A MVA check revealed Mr. Thomas' driving privileges are suspended. A check of NCIC indicated he also had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12849) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 15, 2007 for Possession of Marijuana and Driving without the Required License. Mr. Thomas was arrested for driving on a suspended license and the outstanding Bench Warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Thomas had brass knuckles in the vehicle. Mr. Thomas was also charged with possession of a concealed deadly weapon and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

NO LICENSE, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, November 16, 2007 at 3:21 pm, TFC J. Linger initiated a traffic stop on north bound Route 5, at Maypole Road in Leonardtown on a brown Honda Accord for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Jackie Pixley, Jr., 19, of Mechanicsville. A MVA check revealed Mr. Pixley does not have a driver's license and he was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Pixley was in possession two cigar tubes containing Cocaine and Marijuana. Mr. Pixley was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with driving without a license, possession of Cocaine, possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was detained pending a bond review.

TRESPASSING: On Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 6:47 pm, Mark John Broda, 51, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for Trespassing. Mr. Broda was issued a No Trespass Notice on August 13, 2007 and was not to trespass on the property of the Three Oaks Center. Mr. Broda entered the facility and was acting in a disorderly manner and threatening the residents. Mr. Broda was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond hearing.

DWI/DUI, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 2:43 am, TFC P. Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on Route 246 at Midway Drive in Lexington Park on a blue Toyota Camry for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Jermaine Lynell Young, 26, of California. During the course of the traffic stop, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from Mr. Young's breath and person. Mr. Young was arrested for DWI/DUI. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed 2 bags of Marijuana in the vehicle. Both passengers, Elvis Tyrell Frederick, 22, of Loveville and Jerel Darnell Owens, 20, of Callaway were also arrested for possession of Marijuana. All subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, November 16, 2007 at 1:06 am, Darleen Baldinelli Poornia, 53, of Leesburg, VA was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13001) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 15, 2007. The original charge on the warrant was Driving on a Suspended Out of State License. Ms. Poornia was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, November 16, 2007 at 6:35 pm, Joseph Louis Herbert, 51, of Clements was arrested by TFC M. Laney on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on May 16, 2007. The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Herbert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
