MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 1, 2007) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STOLEN VEHICLE TAG: On Monday, October 29, 2007 at 6:26 pm, Sgt C. Tyer received a complaint of Theft of rear tag from a female complainant who resides in the 27000 block of Baptist Church Road in Mechanicsville. The complainant advised unknown suspect(s) removed her rear vehicle tag. Investigation continues.

DWI, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:55 pm, Corey Michael Brooks, 20, of Clements, was arrested by TFC L. Nims for Possession of Marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and a butterfly knife. TFC Nims initiated a traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic on Route 235 and Beck Road in Hollywood for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with Mr. Brooks and an odor of alcoholic beverage and burnt marijuana were emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Brooks was found to be in possession of a bag of Marijuana and a butterfly knife. Mr. Brooks was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and the butterfly knife. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond hearing. He was also charged with DWI.

DWI, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 11:58 pm, TFC J. Linger initiated a traffic stop on Route 5 at Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville on a blue Nissan car for exceeding the posted speed limit. The driver was identified as William Dennis Parker, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. Linger for DWI. Mr. Parker was transported to the Leonardtown Barracks for processing where Mr. Parker was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of Cocaine. Mr. Parker was also charged with possession of Cocaine in addition to the DWI.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 12:50 am, Edrick Maury Young, 40, of Avenue was arrested by TFC K. Shughart on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13091) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on October 11, 2007. The original charge was Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $557.00 bond. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, October 29, 2007 at 10:09 am, Mary Leslie Wills, 37, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. Grimes on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13109) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on October 23, 2007. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Ms. Wills turned herself in at the Leonardtown Barracks and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, October 29, 2007 at 3:30 pm, Kim Nguyet Tran, 19, of Rockville was arrested by Tpr. D. Brill on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13120) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on October 19, 2007. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Tran was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
