Two Cars Torched In Waldorf, Arson Suspected


WALDORF, Md. (Oct. 16, 2007) - Two vehicles were set ablaze in Waldorf last Friday and Sunday respectively. The State Fire Marshall has determined the cause of the fire in both cases to be arson.

On Oct 12, a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle near Bannister Circle & Ferguson Court, Waldorf, was burned. The fire was discovered by a passerby and took 4 firefighters five minutes to bring under control. The estimated damage is $5,000. The vehicle is owned by Veronica Speight.

According to the Fire Marshall, A black four door passenger car was observed leaving the scene immediate after the fire started.

On Oct. 14, a 1989 Chevrolet Pick-up Truck on Country Lane, Waldorf, was set on fire. The fire was discovered by a passerby and took 4 firefighters one minute to bring under control. The estimated damage is $100. The vehicle is owned by Arnold Washington.
