Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 11, 2007) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOP: DFC Robert Burggraff responded to a home on Field Road in Lusby for the report of a destruction of property. The homeowner reported that sometime overnight between October 3 and 4 unknown suspect(s) broke a window on the house causing $100 in damage. DFC Burggraff will continue the investigation.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Brianne Gray and Dep. Thomas Tilley observed two men in possession of marijuana on the boardwalk at Bay Ave in North Beach on October 5 at 10:49 p.m. Shawn D. Harris, 32 of Capitol Heights, and Anthony Haripersaud, 27 of Oxon Hill, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE: Dep. Jason Dean conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on October 6 at 11:55 p.m. in the area of Chance Court in Huntingtown. The driver, later identified as a sixteen-year-old male from Huntingtown, initially gave a false identity. The youth was also found to be driving in violation of his Maryland Learner's Permit, having unauthorized use of the vehicle he was driving, carrying a concealed weapon, and possessing a tobacco product by a minor. He was charged with all these offenses on a youth report and released to the custody of a parent.

DOP: Unknown suspects broke seven landscaping lights at the Southern Pines Apartments on Appeal lane in Lusby between October 6 and 7 causing $140 in damage. Dep. Richard Weems is investigating.

THEFT: A victim advised Dep. Brianne Gray that he observed an unknown black male suspect steal his white BMX bicycle, valued at $50, from in front of the Chesapeake Beach Library on October 6 at 2:30 p.m. The bicycle had pegs on the front and rear tires. The victim reported that the suspect was approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and had a black shirt over his face. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gray at 410-535-2800.

BURGLARY: A home on Brookeside Drive in Chesapeake Beach suffered $500 in damage between October 4 and 7 when unknown suspect(s) entered the home. Nothing appeared to have been taken. DFC Todd Smith is handling the investigation.

THEFT: A victim on Casey Way in Owings advised DFC David Denton that unknown suspect(s) had broken two windows on her vehicle and stolen property from within overnight between October 8 and 9. The damage is estimated at $500. The stolen property was later recovered in the street near the victim's home. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Denton at 410-535-2800.
