Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (September 29, 2007) - The U.S. Department of Defense this week announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $39,433,314 firm-fixed-price contract for the VH-3D/VH-60N Executive Helicopter Special Progressive Aircraft Rework Contract for security manpower, security maintenance support, VH-3D project engineering support, VH-60N project engineering support, VH integrated logistic support, VH on-site training, technical manuals, technical manuals contractor support, technical manuals travel, program support and quality engineer. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in September 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity (N00019-07-D-0004).

Rolls Royce Corp., Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded a $14,239,000 firm-fixed-price order against a previously issued Basic Ordering Agreement (N00019-04-G-0015) for the teardown, inspection and repair of up to 28 AE1107C engines in support of the MV-22 (Marine variant) aircraft. Work will be performed in Oakland, Calif. (50 percent) and Indianapolis, Ind. (50 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2008. Contract funds in the amount of $14,239,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.

Marvin Engineering Co., Inc., Inglewood, Calif., is being awarded an $6,073,710 delivery order under a previously awarded firm-fixed-price basic ordering agreement contract (N00019-07-G-0021) to procure 193 LAU-7E/A Guided Missile Launchers for the F-18, AV-8, AH-1, and EA-6 aircraft for the U.S. Navy. Work will be performed in Inglewood, Calif., and is expected to be completed in October 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Battery Specialties, Inc., Costa Mesa, Calif., is being awarded a maximum $5,500,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to procure Electro-chem batteries and associated battery packs. This acquisition will meet requirements of the Quick Response Cabability (QRC) group. The QRC group directly supports joint military, DOD, Special Forces, and law enforcement agencies. Work will be performed in Dahlgren, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $5,500,000, will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Internet, with two offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Va., is the contracting activity (N00178-07-D-3031).

EG&G Technical Services, Inc., Gaithersburg, Md., is being awarded a $6,879,417 cost-plus-fixed-fee (term) modification under previously awarded contract (N00178-04-C-3002) to exercise option 4 to provide engineering, analytical, technical services, test support, and management support in support of various Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) programs. Work is primarily performed in Dahlgren, Va. (89 percent) and King George, Va. (11 percent), and work is expected to be completed September 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The solicitation was competitively solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities website and Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division procurement web page, with one offer received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Va., is the contracting activity.
