MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (September 27, 2007) The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MARIJUANA: On Monday, September 24, 2007 at 1:20 am, Emily Madeleine Voight, 18, of Bowie was arrested by Tpr. K. Shughart for possession of Marijuana. Ms. Voight was a passenger in a silver Mazda Protégé` which was stopped for an equipment violation. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop a bag of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. Ms. Voight was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

ASSAULT: On Monday, September 24, 2007 at 8:00 pm, TFC Moore responded to a reported fight in progress in the 23000 block of J. M. Gough Court in Leonardtown. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised her husband and 13-year-old step-son were engaged in a physical altercation. During the course of the investigation, the 13-year-old juvenile was arrested for 2nd degree assault and taken to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed. He was later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

DUI/CDS: On Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 1:31 am, TFC J. Linger initiated a traffic stop on north bound Route 5, south of Snow Hill Manor Road in Park Hall for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Marvil Quase, 20, of Montgomery Village. A moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Quase was subsequently arrested for DUI. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Quase was found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ASSAULT:,On Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 3:54 pm, Tpr. D. Brill responded to a disturbance in the 21000 block of Castaway Circle in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the male complainant who advised his 16-year-old son was out of control and assaulting him. Tpr Brill arrested the 16-year-old juvenile for 2nd Degree Assault and transported him to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. The juvenile was later released to his father pending further action by Juvenile Services.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, September 24, 2007 at 11:00 am, Louis Darnell Parker, 35 of California was served a Circuit Court True Bill Indictment in Circuit Court for Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, September 24, 2007 at 9:02 pm, Michael J. Turner, 19, of Newburg was arrested by TFC Y. Stockton on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 20, 2007. The original charge was possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Turner was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 9:15 am, Deborah Barnaby, 42, was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Arrest Warrant which was issued on August 16, 2007 for Malicious Destruction of Property over $500. Ms. Barnaby was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 1:58 am, Nathan Jerrard Mowrer, 20, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. B. McCartney on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 21, 2007. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License and Failing to Stop After a Property Damage Accident. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Monday, September 17, 2007 at 5:29 pm, Tpr. G. White responded to the 28000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for a reported Theft over $500. Contact was made with the female complainant, who advised unknown suspect(s) stole her gold engagement ring and wedding band valued at $1,600.00. In addition to a gold ring with two colored stones (Tim and Chrissy) engraved in the ring valued at $100.00. The rings were taken from the residence between September 13 -17, 2007. Investigation continues.

SUSPENDED LICENSE/CDS: On Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 1:54 pm, TFC T. Quade initiated a traffic stop on Route 246 at Pacific Avenue in Lexington Park on a Red Buick for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Robert Maurice Scriber, 34, of California. A check through MVA revealed Mr. Scriber's driving privileges were both revoked and suspended in the Maryland. Mr. Scriber was arrested for driving on a revoked and suspended license. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Scriber was in possession of marijuana and prescription medication not prescribed to him. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

MARIJUANA: On Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 8:05 am, Christopher Michael Kemp, 25, of Leonardtown was arrested for possession of marijuana as a result of a routine traffic stop for an equipment violation. Mr. Kemp was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WANTED PERSON/CDS: On Friday, September 21, 2007 at 8:37 am, TFC J. Linger initiated a traffic stop on Willows Road at South Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park. The red Chrysler Mini-van failed to stop at a stop sign. Contact was made with the driver, William Joseph Leo Brown, 29, of Lexington Park. A NCIC check revealed Mr. Brown was wanted through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on August 13, 2007. The original charge was Theft over $500. Mr. Brown was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where the warrant was served. Mr. Brown was also found to be in possession of prescription medications not prescribed to him. He was also charged with possession of CDS once at the Detention Center.

MARIJUANA: On Friday, September 21, 2007 at 6:45 pm, TFC E. Evans responded to a reported disturbance in the 24000 block of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised she had been assaulted by Darryl William Carter, 22, of Hollywood. Mr. Carter had left the residence and went to Burch Mart in Hollywood where he was later arrested for 2nd Degree Assault. Upon arrival back at the residence to talk with the complainant, TFC E. Evans observed in plain view a marijuana cigarette in the residence. Mr. Carter was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:15 am, Matthew Charles Dickens, 27, of Emporia, VA was arrested by TFC L. Nims for Disorderly Conduct at the Moto Cross Track, 27963 Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville. Mr. Dickens was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 8:31 pm, TFC Quade responded to a reported Theft from Motor Vehicle which occurred in the 48000 block of Havirland Road in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) broke into her red Mercury SUV and stole ten CD's and a Sirius satellite radio from the vehicle. Investigation continues.

ASSAULT/MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 2:08 am, Brandon Scott Coolbaugh, 18, of Tunkhannock, PA was arrested by TFC L. Nims for 2nd Degree Assault and Malicious Destruction of Property at the Moto Cross Track, 27963 Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville. Mr. Coolbaugh was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

DISORDERLY/CDS: On Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 2:30 am, Tpr. K. Shughart responded to the Moto Cross Track, 27963 Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville for a subject causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with several off-duty Troopers who had detained Matthew Paul Edwards, 24, of Sharon Springs, NY for being disorderly and possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Edwards was arrested and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ASSAULT: On Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 7:45 pm, Justin Michael Suite, 19, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Circuit Court True Bill Indictment warrant for 1st Degree Assault. Mr. Suite was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 9:40 pm, Dempsey Wayne Herring, Sr., 50, of California was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 14, 2007. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond hearing.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, September 21, 2007 at 9:25 am, William Joseph Leo Brown, 29, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC J. Linger on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on August 13, 2007. The original charge was Theft over $500. Mr. Brown was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10:30 am, Tanya Michaelle Taylor, 25, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on August 28, 2007. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Ms. Taylor was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 12:05 pm, Troy Taketa Taylor, 43, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC J. Linger on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on June 22, 2007. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Taylor was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 1:00 pm, Melissa Leighann Reich, 22, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on a Circuit Court Warrant for Failing to Appear for Plea Hearing on September 4, 2007 in the Circuit Court of Leonardtown. Ms. Reich was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 10:37 pm, Hassan M. Delgado, 21, of Arlington, VA was arrested by TFC J. Fleetwood on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended Out of State License. Mr. Delgado was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
