LA PLATA, Md. (September 25, 2007) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
VEHICLE PURSUIT: On Sept. 25 at 2:07 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the report of suspects attempting to steal a vehicle parked on Idlewood Park Road in Waldorf. As officers were responding, the citizen reported the suspects were unsuccessful in stealing the vehicle and had fled in another vehicle. A lookout was broadcast for a silver vehicle and Officer R. Brooks located it exiting Idlewood Park Road onto Mattawoman Beantown Road. Officer Brooks attempted to stop it but the driver refused and fled into Prince Georges County, where the vehicle ultimately left the roadway and drove into the woods. The two suspects in the vehicle fled on foot. Prince Georges County police officers and the U.S. Park Police, using its helicopter, assisted the Sheriffs Office in searching the area but the suspects were not located. The suspects are described as black males in their early 20s. One suspect was wearing black shorts and a red T-shirt. The other suspect was wearing gray shorts and a gray shirt. The silver vehicle had been previously reported stolen in Prince Georges County. BURGLARY: On Sept. 25 at 1:54 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Bryans Road Wine and Spirits located at 3105 Marshall Hall Road for an intrusion alarm. Investigation revealed suspect(s) shattered the front glass door and stole an undisclosed amount of money. Officers searched the area but the suspect(s) were not located. ARMED ROBBERY: On Sept. 24 at 11:09 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Citco located at 11901 Business Park Drive in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed a suspect entered the store wearing a mask and brandished a handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at both cahiers and demanded money. The victims complied and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Officers, including a K9 team, searched the area but the suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a black male with a medium build and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt and dark pants. MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On Sept. 21 at 2:05 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to Mile 4 Automotive located at 315 Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf for the report of a vehicle that struck the building. Investigation revealed Felicia Ann Belcher, 31, of Bryans Road pulled into a parking space in front of the building but a bottle had become lodged under her break pedal and she was unable to stop the car, a 2000 Chevrolet Prism. The car went over the curb and struck the base of a large window, causing the window to shatter. Belcher sustained minor injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services personnel. No one else was injured and the buildings structure remained intact. Officer C.
