PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Sept. 13, 2007) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: An employee of SDG Construction of Chesapeake Beach reported to Dep. Aaron Locke that a 1995 Ford Truck left at a job site on September 5 had been damaged. It appeared unknown suspect(s) had attempted to steal the vehicle by forcing an unknown item into the ignition. The damage to the vehicle ignition is estimated at $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Locke at 410-535-2800.
BURGLARY: Tyler's Tackle Shop on Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach was burglarized overnight between September 4 and 5 with over $150 in food items being taken. A neighbor near the shop observed an older model white pick-up truck in the alley behind the business the night the burglary occurred. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl. CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Brianne Gray observed a pick-up truck make numerous turns going in circles on 6th Street and Madison Ave in North Beach on September 5 at 9:32 p.m. After making contact with the driver, later identified as George W. Wise, Jr., 45 of North Beach, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged.
THEFT: A victim reported to Dep. Nicholas DeFelice that unknown suspect(s) stole her purse from her shopping cart while she was loading packages into her car in the Prince Frederick Walmart parking lot. The theft occurred on September 6 at 4:00 p.m. The victim reports that the stolen items total over $330. Dep. DeFelice will continue the investigation.
CDS VIOLATION: While in the area of Dowell Road in Solomons on September 6 at 4:37 p.m., Dep. Nicholas DeFelice conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver, later identified as Alvin L. Adams, 45 of St. Leonard, was found to be driving while intoxicated and in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged.
CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Mark Fitzgerald conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on southbound Md. Rt. 4 at M.F. Bowen Road in Huntingtown on Saturday, September 8 at 2:10 a.m. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were found to be in possession of CDS. The driver, later identified as Joshua L. Borland, 18 of Lusby, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, a 16-year-old male of Lusby, was arrested and charged on a youth report with possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV drug, Ambien, and possession of drug paraphernalia and released to a parent.
CDS VIOLATION: On September 8 at 3:19 a.m., Dep. David Canning investigated two parked vehicles in the rear parking lot of the Lord Calvert Bowling Alley in Huntingtown, which was closed at the time. The owner of one of the vehicles, later identified as Terrell J. Russell, 21 of St. Leonard, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged.
