St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department released the following incident and arrest reports.

BCI Narcotics Detectives indicted Thomas Delano Bush (aka "Killer" age 60 of Leonardtown) for Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute. An arrest warrant was obtained through the Grand Jury process as a result of drug activity in a Leonardtown apartment community. A search and seizure warrant was served and Suspect Bush was found to be in possession of cocaine with an amount that would indicate his intent to distribute.

On September 7, 2007, Deputies from the Special Operations Division assisted in locating Suspect Bush. He was placed under arrest and a search incident to that arrest revealed a quantity of cocaine. Additional charges were filed and Suspect Bush is currently being held without bond.

On 09/04/07 Dfc. Connelly responded to a report of a Breaking and Entering to two motor vehicles in the California area. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) entered two vehicles and stole various items from within the vehicles while parked at the victim's residence.

On 09/05/07 Dfc. Connelly responded to the California Sheetz for the reported Theft of Merchandise. Investigation revealed James A Stewart (age 18 of Great Mills and a 17 year old juvenile) entered the store, removed items from the display and exited the store failing to render payment for the items. Both suspects were charged with Theft Under $100.

On 09/04/07 Dfc. E. Young responded to a residence in the Lexington Park area for the reported Burglary. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the victim's residence while she was away. After gaining entry the suspect(s) removed personal items and cash from the residence.

On 09/05/07 Dfc. E. Young responded to a residence in the Great Mills area for the reported Burglary. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by removing an air condition window unit. After gaining entry into the residence the suspect(s) removed personal property belonging to the victim.

On 09/06/07 Sdfc. R. Merritt arrested a 16 year old juvenile charging him with Theft under $100 and UnauthorizedUse of a Credit Card. Investigation revealed the juvenile obtained the credit card number of the victim and used the credit card to make on-line purchases by obtaining gaming points through an Xbox gaming system.

On 09/06/07 Dfc. Connelly responded to a business in California, Maryland for the reported Theft. Investigation revealed Tina M. Hawkins (age 26 of Lusby, Md.) entered the business and concealed several clothing items on her person and exited the store, failing to render payment for the items. The suspect was charged with Theft Under $ 100.

BCI Narcotics Detectives indicted Edwin Rowe Kline (age 28 of St. Mary's City) for several Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) violations to include Distribution of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute. He is currently being held without bond in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

Also arrested was Lester Marvel Scriber (age 34 of Callaway). Suspect Scriber was indicted by BCI Detectives for Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute. He is being held with out bond in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

John Winfield Cater (age 51 of Mechanicsville) was arrested on an open Grand Jury indictment that was obtained by BCI Narcotics Detectives. Suspect Carter was indicted for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with the intent to Distribute. He is awaiting an "Arraignment Hearing "in the Circuit Court.
