MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 5:09 pm, Tpr. B. McCartney responded to Route 235 at Airport View Road in Hollywood for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival contact was made with the driver, Michael Lavar Yeldell, 38, of Great Mills and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from the vehicle and his breath. Mr. Yeldell was subsequently arrested for DUI. While Mr. Yeldell was being escorted to Tpr. McCartney's vehicle he began to resist and assaulted Tpr. McCartney and also Tpr. C. Evans, who was assisting with traffic at the scene of the accident. He was charged with DUI and Assault on Police Officer. Mr. Yeldell was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

On Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 4:17 pm, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 truck, the passenger, William David Broomfield, 43, of Mechanicsville was not restrained by his seat belt. Mr. Broomfield was subsequently arrested for possession of Endocet, prescription medication not prescribed to him. Mr. Broomfield was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of CDS and held pending a bond review.

On Friday, September 7, 2007 at 12:11 pm, TFC M. Moore responded to Park Dodge new car dealership on Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for a reported motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, who advised a silver 2007 Chrysler 300 4 door was stolen from the dealership lot between September 5th at 6:00 pm to September 7th at 8:00 am. As earlier reported, a silver 2006 Chrysler 300 4 door was also taken from the dealership between September 1st at 12:00 pm to September 3rd at 5:00 pm. Investigation continues.

On Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:38 pm, David Alexander Paolillo, 38, of California was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Paolillo was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

On Friday, September 7, 2007 at 4:20 pm, TFC Grimes initiated a traffic stop on Route 247 prior to Route 5 in Loveville as the driver, Robert Lee Joy, 2nd, 31, of Welcome was not restrained by his seat belt. During the course of the traffic stop, a MVA check was made and Mr. Joy was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Joy was in possession of 7 pills of Hydrocodone and 1.5 pills of Oxycodone, a prescription medication not prescribed to him. Mr. Joy was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

On Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 4:00 pm, TFC L. Nims responded to a reported Burglary in the 27000 block of Morganza Turner Road in Mechanicsville. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized her garage and residence and damaged the door which goes from the garage to the residence. There was nothing missing from the residence and the investigation continues.

On Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 3:00 am, TFC K. Lashley responded to a reported noise complaint in the 29000 block of Rooftop Circle in Mechanicsville. Upon arrival contact was made with Ronald Bennett Rockhill, Jr., 53, of Mechanicsville. A NCIC check revealed Mr. Rockhill had an open warrant through St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Rockhill was placed under arrest and during the investigation Mr. Rockhill was also found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device containing marijuana residue. Mr. Rockhill was charged with the possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was turned over to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department for the warrant service and held pending a bond review.

On Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 5:03 pm, Donna Jean McRae, 47, of Ridge was arrested by TFC L. Nims for Domestic Assault. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

On Friday, September 7, 2007 at 8:00 am, Christopher Darrell Pou, 21, of NAS Patuxent River was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach on a Bench Warrant (T3-12390) which was issued for Failing To Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 19, 2006. The original charge was driving on a suspended license. Mr. Pou was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
