PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (August 31, 2007) - An Owings, Md. man yesterday succumbed to injuries received during a motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday, August 24 at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Calverton School Road in Huntingtown. Daniel P. Anderson, 21, passed away last night at 7:40 p.m.
According to Calvert police, Anderson was riding his 2004 Yamaha motorcycle traveling northbound on Calverton School Road when he struck a 2002 Toyota Highlander SUV being driven by Tina L. Dorsey, 47, of Huntingtown. The motorcycle struck the SUV in the rear, causing Anderson to lose control and be ejected.
After the accident, Anderson was flown to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries.
Cpl. Richard Wilson of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.
