Alleged Lusby Rapist Caught While Fleeing in Stolen Vehicle



A 46-year-old Lusby, Md. woman told police that she had been sexually assaulted on Sat., Aug. 18, 2007 by this man, Jerry Edward Goldring, 42 of Lusby. Goldring is presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Aug. 20, 2007) - A 46-year-old Lusby, Md. woman told police that she had been sexually assaulted by a suspect who forcibly entered her residence on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, August 18 at approximately 7:45 a.m., members of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police responded to the victim's home on Rodeo Road in Lusby. The woman told police that the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle.

Cpl. Richard Wilson later observed the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Md. Rt. 4. Police stopped the vehicle in Port Republic. The driver was identified as Jerry Edward Goldring, 42 of Lusby. Goldring was placed under arrest and later charged with first degree rape, first degree assault, first degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
