LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
On Friday, August 3, 2007 at 12:40 pm, Tpr. D. Brill responded to a reported Industrial Accident in the 20000 block of Point Lookout Road in Great Mills. Upon arrival contact was made with a witness who advised a subject was injured from a fall. Thomas Leroy Newton, 60, of Hollywood was on top of his tree trimming boom truck attempting to free the boom from telephone wires when he fell to the ground. Mr. Newton fell approximately 15 feet and sustained a head injury. He was flown by MSP Trooper 7 to Prince Georges Shock Trauma where he was listed in stable condition.
On Monday, August 6, 2007 at 4:40pm, TFC Fleetwood responded to the 41000 block of Connelly Street in Leonardtown for a reported assault which occurred on Friday, August 3, 2007 at approximately 10:40 pm. The male victim advised he was struck in the head with a bottle as he was attempting to quiet a group of people at the playground. The unknown male suspect left the area and the investigation continues.
On Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 12:44 am, TFC E. Evans responded to a reported Burglary in the 45000 block of Happyland Road in Valley Lee. The complainant advised he was awakened by a loud noise and a subject in his kitchen with a flashlight. The unknown subject fled the residence. There was nothing taken from the residence and the investigation continues.
On Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 12:27 am, TFC Fleetwood responded to a reported disturbance in the 41000 block of Norris Circle in Leonardtown. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant who advised she had been assaulted. During the course of the investigation, contact was made with Thomas Lamone Harris, 29, of Lexington Park who was found to be in possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Harris was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly where he was held pending a bond review.
On Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 3:03 pm, TFC Rezza responded to a reported theft in the 39000 block of Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville. Upon arrival contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) took a 5hp Troy-Bilt power washer from the victim's vehicle and the investigation is continuing.
On Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:08 am, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Caprice for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 5, in the area of Busy Corner Road in Loveville. Contact was made with the vehicle occupants and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop a partially burnt marijuana cigar was recovered from the ash tray of the vehicle. Anthony Jamal Fenny, 21, of Upper Marlboro was arrested for possession of the CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Friday, August 10, 2007 at 4:35 pm, Tpr. C. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Intrepid on Route 237, in the area of Rutherford Blvd in Lexington Park because the driver was not restrained by his seat belt. Contact was made with the driver, Terrence Demetrius Green, 32, of Great Mills and an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop marijuana and a partially burnt marijuana cigar were recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Harris was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Friday, August 10, 2007 at 5:15 pm, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a red Toyota Corolla at Pegg Road and Watt Drive in Lexington Park because the front passenger was not restrained by his seat belt. Contact was made with the driver, Jacqueline Marie Harris, 21, of Scotland and the passenger, David Eric Strain, 20, of Lexington Park. An odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, a small bag of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. A search incident to arrest, Mr. Strain was found to be in possession of fake CDS. Ms. Harris and Mr. Strain were both arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of fake CDS. They were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 8:40 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported disturbance in the 46000 block of Timber Valley Court in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, contact was made with a 16 year old male and an odor of alcohol was emitting from his breath. He was yelling outside and creating a disturbance. The juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. He was later released to his father pending further action by Juvenile Services.

On Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 2:10 am, TFC K. Lashley served a Bench Warrant (T3-12948) on Curtis Lamar Ford, 24, of Upper Marlboro for Failing to Appear in District Court on the charges of Driving While Suspended. Mr. Ford was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending charges.
On Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 6:30 am, TFC Moore served an Arrest Warrant (T3-12982) on Sherry Anne Jessup, 27, of Lexington Park for Theft over $500 which reportedly occurred at the Giant Food Store in Dunkirk on February 26, 2007 and May 14, 2007. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
On Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 8:40 am, Tpr. Shughart served an Arrest Warrant (T3-12690) on Charles William Cox, III, 27, of Coltons Point for DWI. Mr. Cox was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:10 pm, Tpr. Shughart served a Bench Warrant (T3-12963) on Edrick Maury Young, 40, of Avenue for Failing to Make Deferred Payment to the Court by June 15, 2007. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 10:30 pm, Tpr. McCartney served an Arrest Warrant (T3-12762) on Aaron William Smithers, 27, of Avenue for DUI/DWI and Driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Smithers was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
