LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ARMED ROBBERY: On Aug. 7 at 9 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed a 17-year-old Waldorf boy was walking in the 2000 block of St. Thomas Drive in Waldorf when three male suspects approached him and displayed a handgun. One of the suspects punched the victim in his head. The victim fell to the ground and one of the suspects pointed a gun at him. After the victim emptied his pockets, one of the suspects struck the victim with the gun. The suspects stole the victims cell phone and glasses and fled. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by Emergency Medical Services personnel. The suspects are described only as black males. ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: On Aug. 6 at 9:26 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the 4200 block of Hawthorne Road in Indian Head for the report of a suspicious person. Investigation revealed Roy Dennis Tolson, 28, of Waldorf had been standing in the middle of the road attempting to flag vehicles down. When a 28-year-old woman was parking her car in her driveway, Tolson entered the vehicle, advised he was a federal agent and was seizing her car, and attempted to take control of the vehicle. The victims husband came outside and extracted Tolson from the vehicle and Tolson then assaulted him. Officers arrived on the scene and took Tolson into custody. He was charged with attempted carjacking, impersonating a police officer, second-degree assault and the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. No one was injured. Cpl. J. Murphy investigated.
