BCI Solves L.P. Burglary Spree


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

As part of an ongoing investigation into several residential burglaries which occurred since July 2, 2007 in the Cedar Cove area of Lexington Park, detectives from BCI conducted surveillance in the area. They observed a 17-year-old male from Lexington Park and Trayvell V. Jones, a 19-year-old male from Lexington Park, acting suspicious. The detectives detained the two suspects. After further investigation, police conducted two search warrants which led to the recovery of numerous stolen items from area burglaries as well as cocaine.

Both teens were charged with one count of 4th Degree Burglary, and five counts of 1st Degree Burglary. In addition, Jones was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) with the Intent to Distribute. Jones is incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and the juvenile is in the Cheltenham Youth Facility.
