St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint Operation in St. Mary's County on August 10th in support of the National Traffic Safety Administration's "Checkpoint Strikeforce" initiative. Every vehicle that enters the checkpoint will be stopped and checked for impaired drivers. The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to making our roads safe and free of intoxicated and drugged drivers and to educating the citizens on the dangers of driving while impaired.

On 07/31/07 Deputy John Logalbo responded to the area of St. John's Circle in Great Mills for a reported domestic assault in progress. Deputy Logalbo's investigation revealed that Michael Lavar Yeldell (Age 30 of Great Mills) had assaulted his wife by driving his vehicle into a vehicle occupied by his wife. Yeldell also had his three month old child in his vehicle at the time of the assault. Yeldell was arrested by Deputy Logalbo and charged with Assault in the First Degree.

On 07/31/07 Joseph Michael Farrell (Age 49 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy James Molitor on a warrant issued by the Circuit Court for Calvert County for Non-Payment of Child Support.

On 07/31/07 Matthew James Hiner (Age 20 of Mechanicsville) was arrested by Deputy Jeremy Green on a warrant issued by the District Court for St. Mary's County for Assault in the Second Degree.

On 07/31/07 Willard Preston Jones (Age 45 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy James Molitor on a Bench Warrant issued by the District Court for St. Mary's County for Failing to Appear for Trail to answer to the original charge of Assault in the Second Degree.

On 07/31/07 Tony Tyrone Gladden (Age 30 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Milton Pesante on a warrant issued by the District Court for St. Mary's County charging Gladden with Theft.
