LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
BURGLARY: On July 12, 2007, the Maryland State Police responded to a burglary of a residence on Leachburg Road in Lexington Park, Md. The investigation was forwarded to the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations. The BCI investigation revealed that Suspect Christopher Leon Watson, an 18 year-old Lexington Park man, had burglarized the residence on July 12 and again on July 26--both times forcing entry into the residence and stealing various valuable items. On July 26, BCI detectives arrested the suspect and charged him with 2 counts of Burglary First Degree, Theft Over $500, and Theft Under $500. He is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center awaiting an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
STABBING: On July 27 at approximately 3:15 a.m., a fight occurred between Alex E. Serrano, a 21 year-old from Lexington Park and Joshua S. Woode, a 19 year old from Great Mills, during a private party at a residence on Bective Way in Great Mills. During the altercation, Serrano stabbed Woode in the back with a kitchen knife and fled. Woode was treated at St. Mary's Hospital and later released. BCI detectives, with the assistance of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Team, conducted a search warrant at suspect Serrano's residence and located him there at approximately 9:30 a.m. Serrano was arrested and charged with First and Second Degree Assault. He was incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
