LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT: On July 25 at 3:46 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the Safeway located at 3051 Market Place in Waldorf for the report of a theft. A lookout was broadcast for the suspect vehicle, which Officer R. Garrett located on St. Patricks Drive. Officers Garrett and W. Halt stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Raymond Leon Isaacs, 45, of Capital Heights. As the officers attempted to handcuff Isaacs, Isaacs resisted and a brief struggle ensued. Isaacs was charged with assaulting a police officer, theft valued at less $100, destruction of property valued at less than $500 and resisting arrest. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
BURGLARY: On July 24 at 4:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs Officer M. Davidson responded to Mutts Liquors located at 4541 Indian Head Avenue in Indian Head for the report of a burglary and observed Robert Lewis Davis, 44, of Indian Head exiting the store carrying two bottles of liquor. The officer immediately apprehended the accused. Investigation revealed Davis used a rock to break the glass of the front door. Davis was charged with second-degree burglary, destruction of property valued at more than $500 and theft valued at less than $500. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
POLICE PURSUIT: On July 24 at 8:06 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs Officer T. Yates observed a white Ford Crown Victoria spin tires on St. Charles Parkway near St. Ignatius Drive in Waldorf and speed away northbound, weaving through traffic and passing on the shoulder of the road. Officer Yates attempted to stop the vehicle as it turned south onto Leonardtown Road but the driver fled at a high rate of speed until he lost control and the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole. The driver, James Cornell Ford, 19, of Oxon Hill, was arrested without incident and charged with reckless driving, failure to stop at a red light, driving without a license, passing on the shoulder, failure to obey traffic control devices, speeding, negligent driving and fleeing and eluding. A teenage passenger in the vehicle was not charged and was released to his father. Ford was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On July 20 at 2 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers were conducting foot patrol, in the 12000 block of Acton Lane near Enterprize Place in Waldorf when they encountered Christopher Jerome Lee, 22, of Waldorf. During a conversation with Lee, officers discovered he was in possession of $100 worth of marijuana and a cigar. Lee was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Officer R. Kimble investigated.
