LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
On Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2:18 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a red Acura Vigor on Route 247, north of Busy Corner Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, George Derrick Gross, 37, of Great Mills. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop a clear plastic bag of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. Additionally, a small glass vial containing cocaine powder and $2,931.00 was recovered from his person. Mr. Gross was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 7:36 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported disturbance in the 21000 block of North Essex Drive, Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the male victim who advised he was assaulted by Glinda Melody Williamson, 35, of Lexington Park. Ms. Williamson was arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11:40 pm, TFC Rezza observed a white Chevrolet Suburban exceeding the posted speed limit traveling south bound Route 235 from Route 5 in Mechanicsville. After a short pursuit southbound Route 235, the driver made a U-turn and proceeded northbound until a traffic stop was initiated on Route 5 at Mechanicsville Road. A NCIC check revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Washington, DC earlier that day. The driver, Seuing Minchung, 26, of Crofton was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and issued the appropriate traffic citations. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 2:30 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported burglary in the 38000 block of Dukehart Creek Road in Coltons Point. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) entered her residence through a side window. The complainant advised nothing of value was taken and the investigation continues.
On Friday, June 29, 2007 at 4:37 pm, TFC Laney responded to a reported burglary in the 47000 block of Piney Orchard Street in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) burglarized his residence and stole a Panasonic DVD changer/player, a wireless microphone and several metal tins of U.S. coins. The investigation continues.
On Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11:06 pm, TFC E. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a white Lincoln Continental on Route 235, north of St. Johns Road in Hollywood. Contact was made with the driver, George Francis Butler, 56, of Glen Burnie. A check of MVA revealed Mr. Butler's driving privileges are suspended in Maryland. Mr. Butler was arrested for driving while suspended and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 3:26 am, TFC Lashley initiated a traffic stop on a silver Volkswagen Jetta on Route 234, east of Route 242 in Clements for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Rickey Dave Townsend, Jr., 23, of Leonardtown and the passenger, Donald Eugene Smith, 40, of Leonardtown. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Townsend was arrested for DUI and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review. A search of the vehicle revealed Mr. Smith was in possession of a silver metal CDS smoking device. Mr. Smith was charged for possession of CDS paraphernalia on a Criminal Citation and released at the scene.
On Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 7:48 pm, Tpr. M. Adams responded to Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek for a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the security officials who had several people detained. During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the suspects, Talley Dewayne Barber, 32, of Indian Head, Jason Leroy Parris, 27, of La Plata and Marvin Leo Carroll, 25, of Indian Head, who were arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review. The investigation is continuing.
