MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: During the overnight hours of June 10, an unknown culprit spray painted graffiti on Sunderland Elementary School and an adjacent church building. Property damage is estimated at $1500. TPR Stern is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 13, 10:56 AM, Rt. 4, Sunderland, TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, TPR Chirichella detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located on the person of Shannon Sterling Smith, 27, of Suitland. Mr. Smith was placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On June 14, 12:36 AM, Rt. 260, Chesapeake Beach, TPR Saucerman, assisted by TFC Stein, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon conversing with the occupants in the vehicle, TFC Stein observed a CDS smoking device. The device was seized and found to contain suspected cocaine residue. Arrested at that time for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia were Rebecca Anne Montgomery, 51, of Chesapeake Beach, and John Henry Kent, 46, of Owings, MD. After processing, they were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
