LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: On June 6 at 4:47 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Officer J. Walter attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Ford Crown Victoria for failing to stop at a stop sign on St. Ignatius Drive at Bannister Circle in Waldorf. The driver refused to stop, drove around Bannister Circle and turned onto Oakley Drive. The vehicle continued to flee until it struck a tree off of Wakefield Circle. The occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the suspects. A short time later, the owner of the vehicle, a 27-year-old Washington, D.C., man called the Sheriff’s Office to report his vehicle had been stolen while it was parked on Amberleaf Place nearby.
