Leonardtown High School Student Elected MASC President


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - Madiba Dennie of Leonardtown High School was recently elected president of the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) for the 2007-2008 school year. As MASC president, Miss Dennie will serve as the official spokesperson throughout Maryland on student related issues and as the official MASC representative to the National Association of Student Councils. The election took place during the MASC Convention held March 28-30, 2007 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

During the convention, Madiba Dennie, Nneka Dennie (also a student at Leonardtown High School), and Colvin Young of Great Mills High School were recognized for their efforts hosting the MASC Middle School Conference last fall at Great Mills High School. Deborah Dennie, Assistant Principal at Spring Ridge Middle School and regional advisor of the St. Mary's Association of Student Councils (SMASC), was also recognized for her efforts with the middle school conference.
