MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On 5-21, 9:19PM, TPR Bodnar was dispatched to Fox Run Liquors, Prince Frederick, for a shoplifting complaint. The suspect was recorded on a security camera, and a vehicle description was obtained. Calvert Control broadcasted a lookout and the vehicle was stopped on Rt 4, Dunkirk, by Deputy Coates, CCSO. The stolen liquor was located in the vehicle. Arrested at that time for theft (-$100) was Alverto Rosales, 28, of Jessup. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5-23, 10:20 PM, TPR Bodnar and TFC Dawson were called to assist Sgt. Barth with a traffic stop on Rt. 261, Chesapeake Beach. The operator, Ronald Bruce Moore, Jr. 20, of Lothian, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, a CDS smoking device containing suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. Mr. Moore was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: During the overnight hours of 5-23, an unknown culprit removed $410.00 of lumber from a construction site on Doris Dr., Owings. TFC Brooks is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5-25, 1:16 AM, Rt. 261, Chesapeake Beach, TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupants, the odor of suspected marijuana was detected. A search was conducted and a baggie of suspected marijuana was located under the driver’s seat. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia was Thomas Jerome Hobbs, Jr., 21, of Waldorf. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/CRACK-COCAINE: On 5-26, 2:55 AM, Guillermo Alexander Diaz, 22, of Lusby, was arrested by TPR Roy for theft (-$100), after leaving the Lusby FaStop without paying for merchandise. Incident to arrest, a baggie of suspected crack-cocaine and a baggie of suspected marijuana were located on his person. While escorting Mr. Diaz into the Prince Frederick Barrack, he attempted to walk away. TPR Roy grabbed his arm, and he attempted to walk away again. TPR Roy grabbed his arm again and Mr. Diaz pushed back towards him, striking him with his shoulder. In addition to the theft charge, Mr. Diaz was charged with 2nd degree assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: On 5-27, between 11:00 PM and 11:56 PM, an unknown culprit removed a 13’ Coleman canoe, orange with gray stripes, from the rooftop of a vehicle parked on Rousby Hall Rd., Lusby. TPR Laziuck is handling the investigation.

THEFT: On 5-30, an employee of Morgan Russell, Inc. reported that an unknown culprit had removed a 1989 Rammax trench compactor, valued at $24,900, from a construction site on Rt. 4, south of Chaneyville Rd., Owings. TPR Roy is handling the investigation.
