MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On 5-8, between 7:00 AM and 8:07 PM, an unknown culprit forcibly entered a residence on Wilson Rd., Huntingtown, and removed a Playstation II, a leather “AVIREX” coat, and jewelry. TFC Johns is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE/GUN/MARIJUANA: On 5-11, 12:04 AM, H. G. Trueman Rd., Lusby, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After obtaining information from the operator and returning to his MSP vehicle, the operator fled the area on foot. As TPR Towers gave chase, he advised the female passenger to stay in the car. TPR Towers caught up with the suspect in a wooded area, approximately 200 yards from the roadway. At that time, Deputy Bonville and Deputy Fischer, CCSO, arrived to assist TPR Towers. When returning the suspect to his vehicle, the female passenger had fled the area. Her name and address were obtained from the suspect and TFC Stein responded to that location. Detecting a strong odor of suspected marijuana on the suspect’s person, a search was conducted. Suspected marijuana, a 9mm handgun, and a full magazine of ammo were located in the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the vehicle and handgun had been reported stolen in St. Mary’s County the previous day. Charged as an adult with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia, motor vehicle theft, theft, handgun violations, DWI, fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, underage possession of alcohol and tobacco, and various traffic violations was Daniel Kenneth Douglas, 16, of Mechanicsville. Charged as an adult with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia, motor vehicle theft, theft, handgun violations, underage possession of alcohol and tobacco, and failing to obey a lawful order was Holly Susan Beall, 17, of Lusby. After processing, they were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/WEAPON: On 5-12, 1:26 AM, Rt. 260, Owings, TPR Roy stopped to assist TPR Chirichella with a single motor vehicle accident. TPR Chirichella had observed the operator lose control of his vehicle, strike a curb, and land in an embankment. When TPR Chirichella stopped to investigate, the operator fled from the scene into a wooded area. TPR Chirichella commanded the suspect to stop and he did so, returning to the roadside. Placed under arrest for fleeing and eluding was Charles Owens Gott, III, 24, of Owings. Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana and a homemade wooden club were recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Gott was transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack where field sobriety tests were performed, which he failed. In addition to the fleeing & eluding charge, Mr. Gott was charged with possession of marijuana and a concealed weapon, DUI, and various traffic violations. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/HANDGUNS: On 5-13, 12:46 AM, TPR Towers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Rt. 2/4 @ Cove Pt. Rd., Lusby. Upon contact with the operator, TPR Towers detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana, CDS paraphernalia, and 2 loaded handguns were located in the vehicle. Placed under arrest at that time for possession of marijuana, CDS paraphernalia, and handgun violations was Steven Van Gregory Skyrm, 48, of Prince Frederick. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: On 5-12, an unknown culprit removed a Schwinn 24” bicycle, purple and teal in color, from the yard of a residence on Hillside Rd., St. Leonard. TPR Bodnar is handling the investigation.

THEFT: On 5-14, an employee of Calvert Body Works, Prince Frederick, reported that an unknown culprit had forcibly entered 2 vehicle and removed 2 tires and 2 wheels. TPR Korn is handling the investigation.
