MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 3:50 am, Tpr. C. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda Civic on Route 5 in Park Hall for an unsafe "U" turn. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Shadona Rochelle Reed, 21, of Lexington Park was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 9:02 am, TFC Quade responded to the Great Mills Pool in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant, who advised unknown suspect(s) damaged the front door and gained entry into the building. The cash register was also damaged and nothing was taken. Investigation continues.

On Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 10:36 pm, Cpl. Bennett was contacted by a victim of a theft. She advised she attended a family gathering in the 38000 block of Point Breeze Road in Coltons Point. After returning home to her residence in Fort Washington she realized an unknown suspect took $1,000.00 from her purse. No further information is available at this time and the investigation continues.

On Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 1:46 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a gold Chrysler Seabring on Route 5 at Hills Club Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, David Matthew Morley, 27, of Leonardtown and marijuana was observed on his shirt and on the driver's seat. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Morley was arrested for possession of marijuana and DUI/DWI. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 6:56 am, TFC Rezza responded to a reported theft in the 38000 block of Wanda Lane in Mechanicsville. Upon arrival contact was made with the complainant, who advised he planted numerous trees along the property line on Saturday, May 12, 2007. During the night, unknown suspect(s) stole 7 Leland Cypress trees from his property. No further information is available.

On Monday, May 14, 2007 at 1:27 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a blue Oldsmobile Cutlass on Route 237 at Fox Chase Drive in Great Mills for exceeding the posted speed limit and the passenger not being restrained by a seat belt. Contact was made with the occupants and a wanted check revealed the passenger, Daniel Clifton Shepard, 29, of Washington, DC was wanted through Prince William County in Virginia. Mr. Shepard was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and was processed as a Fugitive Other Area and held pending extradition back to Virginia.

On Monday, May 14, 2007 at 8:11 am, Tpr. Pilkerton responded to a reported malicious destruction of property to motor vehicles in the 46000 block of Ellen Bee Court in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the victim, who advised unknown suspect(s) broke out the driver's side window on his Toyota Camry and the passenger side window on his Honda Civic. No further information is available and the investigation continues.

On Monday, May 14, 2007 at 3:45 pm, Tpr. Adams responded to the MSP Barrack in Leonardtown for a reported malicious destruction of property to motor vehicle. Contact was made with the victim, who lives in the 22000 block of Iverson Drive in Great Mills. He advised unknown suspect(s) keyed his white Ford Cobra. A neighborhood check was conducted and no further information is available at this time.

On Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 8:31 am, TFC Stockton responded to a reported theft of motor vehicle in the 25000 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown. Contact was made with the victim, who advised unknown suspect(s) took his 1993 maroon Honda Civic. The vehicle is used for racing and did not display any license plates. Investigation continues.

On Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 9:02 am, TFC Moore responded to the 22000 block of Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown for a reported theft from motor vehicle. Contact was made with the complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) stole a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo from her green Honda Accord. No further information is available and the investigation continues.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 3:35 pm, Tpr. Adams initiated a traffic stop on a blue Dodge van for a red light violation. Contact was made with the driver, Jimmy Aloysuis Butler, Sr., 55, of Great Mills. A check through MVA revealed the tags were stolen. Mr. Butler was arrested for theft under $100 and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 5:33 pm, Tpr. Shughart initiated a traffic stop on a black Suzuki Vitara for an equipment violation on Triangle Drive and Oak Station Road in Charlotte Hall. Contact was made with the driver, Martin Alan Eberle, 27, of Mechanicsville and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Eberle was found to be in possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11:01 pm, Tpr. Pilkerton responded to Clover Hill Road in Hollywood for a reported motor vehicle accident. During the course of the investigation, Tpr. Pilkerton observed a bag of marijuana on the passenger side floor of the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver, Elizabeth Garnet Somerville, 23, of Charlotte Hall and the passenger, Sean Foley Somerville, 26, of Mechanicsville. Both individuals were arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
