Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On May 4 at 12:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed a 41-year-old Waldorf woman had exited her vehicle when a male suspect wearing a ski mask approached her. The suspect pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a black male and is 6 feet tall. He is 170 pounds and was wearing a long-sleeve, dark, thin jacket, dark jeans and a white ski mask. Gass is investigating.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On May 3 at 11:14 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Bryantown Store located at 6435 Leonardtown Road in Bryantown for the report of an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle had driven into the front of the store, activating the alarm. Officer A. St. Germain saw the driver in the vehicle was unresponsive and appeared to be suffering from a medical condition. The officer attempted to enter the vehicle, which was still running and in drive, but the doors and windows were secure. He used his baton to break out the passenger-side window and turned the engine off. The driver, a 53-year-old Waldorf man, did not appear to have any injuries caused by the crash. He was transported to Civista Medical Center where he was treated and released. A county building inspector assessed Bryantown Store and determined there was no structural damage.
