LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
BURGLARY: On April 27 at 8:23 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to an intrusion alarm at a residence in the 7500 block of Penguin Place in Bryans Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a suspect shattered the front door window, activated the security alarm and fled the scene. The Sheriffs Office is also investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence in the 5800 block of River Road, which is near Penguin Place. The suspect is described as a white male and is between 30 and 40 years old. He was wearing a baseball hat and a green jacket or sweatshirt. A white sport-utility vehicle with Virginia tags was also reported to have been in the area several times prior to the burglaries. ARMED ROBBERY: On April 26 at 9:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to the 9800 block of Larson Place in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed the victim, a 37-year-old Waldorf woman, was approached by two male suspects who brandished a handgun and ordered her to drop her purse. She complied and the suspects fled the scene with her purse. The suspects are described as black males and are approximately 16 years old. They were wearing white tank tops, long shorts and white bandanas wrapped around their foreheads. The victim was not injured.
