MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 2:05 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a tan Ford Escort on Route 5, south of Route 242 in Morganza for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Norman Charles Davis, 4th, 20, of Clements. An odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Davis was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device. Mr. Davis was charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia on a criminal citation and released at the scene.

On Monday, April 9, 2007 at 1:32 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a white Cadillac Delegance at Route 235 and Route 237 in California an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Victor Levi Thomas, Jr., 25, of Leonardtown. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Thomas was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Monday, April 9, 2007 at 7:35 am, TFC Rezza responded to the 23000 block of Three Notch Road in California for a reported theft of a utility trailer. TFC Rezza made contact with the victim, a 37 year old male, of Leonardtown. He advised unknown suspect(s) stole his white 2002 HMST single axle utility trailer from a construction site between April 8, 2007 at 1:00 pm and April 9, 2007 at 6:30 am. No further information is available and the investigation is continuing.

On Monday, April 9, 2007 at 11:37 pm, Tpr. C. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a gold Chevrolet Cavalier on Route 5, at Hilton Ridge Drive in Lexington Park for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Ms. Jacqueline Sarlak, 41, of Mechanicsville. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Sarlak was found to be in possession of four marijuana cigars. She was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 7:18, TFC Fleetwood responded to the 22000 block of Overlook Drive in Chaptico for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. Contact was made with the victim, a 20 year male, who advised unknown suspect(s) had stolen a set of speakers from his blue 2002 Ford Taurus during the night. No further information was available and the investigation continues.

On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 5:27 pm, TFC Nims initiated a traffic stop on Route 235, at Old Rolling Road in California on a blue Chevrolet Caprice for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, William Vance Straight, 25, of California. A check of MVA revealed Mr. Straight's driving privileges were suspended and revoked in Maryland and North Carolina. Mr. Straight was arrested for driving on a suspended and revoked license. A search incident to the arrest revealed he was in possession of a CDS smoking device with burnt marijuana. He was additionally charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 5:34 pm, Tpr. Adams responded to Westbury Blvd. and Route 246 in Lexington Park for a possible wanted person. Contact was made with Milton Alexander Dove, 37, of Lexington Park. A wanted check through NCIC revealed Mr. Dove was wanted in Georgia for credit card theft. Mr. Dove was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Dove was in possession of marijuana. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with possession of CDS and Fugitive Other Area.
