St. Mary's BCI Police Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.

BCI is currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred on April 4, 2007 at approximately 01:35 a.m. at the Pegg Road Shell Station in Lexington Park Maryland. A black male, with a tall thin build, in his late teens or early twenties, wearing dark clothing, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

On April 4, 2007 at approximately 1 a.m., patrol units from the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack, responded to the report of an armed robbery which occurred in a vehicle on Mattapany Road in St. James, Maryland. The troopers determined that while the victim was driving two acquaintances from his home to nearby residences, one of the two, Joshua A. Carroll, placed a handgun to his head and demanded money. Both suspects then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded and pursuant to their investigation, Joshua A. Carroll, 20, from Lexington Park was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Theft Under $500 and Armed Robbery. Devan M. Herndon, 20 yoa, from Lexington Park, was arrested and charged with Theft Under $100. Both are incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
