LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
On Monday, March 26, 2007 at 1:40 am, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a tan Nissan Altima on Route 5, at Route 489 in Park Hall for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Steven Preston Yates, 56, of Loveville and the passenger, James Louis Stewart, 50, of Lexington Park. An odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Yates was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Stewart was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Both were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Monday, April 2, 2007 at 10:00 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a red Jeep
Cherokee on Mechanicsville Road, in the area of Harrow Hills in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Federico Correa Figueroa, Jr., 30, of Avenue. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Figueroa was seen throwing a cellophane bag of marijuana from the vehicle. The bag of marijuana was recovered and Mr. Figueroa was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Figueroa was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Monday, April 2, 2007 at 4:04 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 at the intersection of Shadrick Street and Washington Street in Leonardtown for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Meghain Marie Scott, 22, of Leonardtown. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Scott was found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Ms. Scott was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Monday, April 2, 2007 at 7:01 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a tan Ford Crown Victoria on Rt. 5, at Hermanville Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Orbin Hans Carter, 21, of Lexington Park. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Carter was found to be in possession of a bag of cocaine. He was arrested for possession of cocaine and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 2:25 am, TFC Nims responded to a reported domestic assault in the 22000 block of Greenview Court in California. Contact was made with the 32 year old female complainant. She advised she was assaulted by Michael Douglas Donovan, 35, of Great Mills. Mr. Donovan was arrested for 2nd degree assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 3:46 am, TFC Nims responded to a reported theft of dirt bike in the 48000 block of Far Cry Road in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the 28 year old male victim. He advised his blue and white 2006 Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike was stolen between the hours of 2:00 am to 3:15 am. Investigation is continuing.
