LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
During the hours of darkness, between March 22nd thru March 31st, numerous vehicles traveling south on Patuxent Beach Road have been struck by objects thrown from a wooded area. Several of the thrown objects have been identified as large rocks which have caused damage totaling thousands of dollars. The Maryland State Police is requesting the assistance of anyone living in this community to provide information which can lead to the identity and arrest of the person(s) responsible for these dangerous and criminal acts. On Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 6:07 am, Tpr. Shughart initiated a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Stratus for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 235, at Beck Road in Hollywood. Contact was made with the driver, Kimberly Rochelle Brooks, 24, of Germantown and an odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Brooks was found to be in possession of two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes and a small bag of marijuana in her purse. Ms. Brooks was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Ms. Brooks was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 12:04 pm, TFC Grimes responded to the 45000 block of Buckshot Way for a reported unauthorized use. Contact was made with the 30 year old male complainant, of Tall Timbers, who advised Dominique Trenne Queen, 20, of Lexington Park used his vehicle without permission. The suspect, Ms. Queen became disorderly and was subsequently placed under arrest. She was charged with disorderly conduct, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property. Ms. Queen was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Friday, March 30, 2007 at 4:45 am, Tpr. Shughart responded to the 46000 block of Hilton Drive in Lexington Park for a reported theft from motor vehicle. Contact was made with the 21 year old male complainant, who advised unknown suspect(s) stole a Sirius Radio and an after market car radio from his vehicle. Investigation is continuing.
On Friday, March 30, 2007 at 10:01 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a black Dodge Neon for an equipment violation at Route 5, at Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the driver, John Kevin Nancarrow, 25, of Brandywine. TFC Linger observed marijuana on the driver's side floorboard. Mr. Nancarrow was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. A search incident to arrest revealed three partially burnt marijuana cigarettes in the center console ashtray and a plastic straw containing cocaine residue on the passenger floorboard. Mr. Nancarrow was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Friday, March 30, 2007 at 8:17 pm, TFC Quade stopped a black Acura Integra on Route 235, south of South Hampton Drive in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Ryan Adam Cole, 18, of Mechanicsville. During the course of the traffic stop Mr. Cole was found in possession of a marijuana cigar. Mr. Cole was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 6:13 am, Tpr. Adams initiated a traffic stop on a gray Mitsubishi Galant on Route 235, south of Airport View Drive in Hollywood for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, William Michael O'brien, 18, of Waldorf. During the course of the traffic stop Mr. O'brien was found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia and a butterfly knife. Mr. O'brien was arrested for possession of a concealed deadly weapon and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. O'brien transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 9:48 am, Tpr. McCartney initiated a traffic stop on a silver Ford Escape on Route 5, at Baptist Church Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Brandon Eric Bentley, 24, of Alexandria, Virginia. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Bentley was found to be in possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
On Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:16 am, TFC Linger was patrolling Great Mills Road in Lexington Park when he observed two males in a parking lot across from Canopy Liquors. As TFC Linger approached Darryll Boyd, 20, of Lexington Park, he began to run and a short foot chase ensued. Mr. Boyd was apprehended and he was founded to be in possession of a small plastic bag of marijuana and $687.00 in currency. Mr. Boyd was arrested for possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and false statement to a police officer and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
