LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) today released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
On March 26 at approximately 12:48 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies located Kevin Paul O'Connor, 42, at his residence in Leonardtown and took him into custody pursuant to an investigation into a burglary of a home on Drayden Road in Valley Lee and a theft of tools and shotguns from a workshop on Drayden Road in Valley Lee. Detectives from BCI charged O'Conner with First Degree Burglary and two counts of Theft over $500.
On March 26 at approximately 6 a.m., a black male approximately 6' tall, 180 lbs., entered a Friendly Cab in the area of North Essex Drive in Lexington Park. In the area of South Essex Drive and South Shangri-La the suspect displayed a knife and demanded money. The driver complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency. BCI is investigating the incident.
On March 23, members of the BCI Vice Narcotics Unit conducted a prostitution operation in the Lexington park area. Pursuant to the investigation the following individuals were arrested:
* Sheila Christine Vernon, 37, with no fixed address, was charged with Prostitution and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance.
* Natasha Maureen Kelly, 21, with no fixed address, was charged with Prostitution and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance.
Both individuals were incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
