CALVERT COUNTY, Md. - The Calvert County Board of Education today announced the last day of school for the 2006-2007 school year. For several years, the Board has built five days into the school calendar for use as snow, weather, or emergency days. This year, only two of those days were used.
According to the Board, unless there is a highly unusual weather event or some other unexpected circumstance, the last day of school for students will be:
* For Pre-kindergarten - Friday, June 8;
* For kindergarten through grade 11 – Monday, June 11 with a 2 hour early dismissal;
* For seniors – Friday, May 18.
The Board also noted that if a senior needs to take one or more of the High School Assessment tests, this will need to be accomplished during the week of May 21.
