LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
ASSAULT: On March 17 at 6:01 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 4400 block of Quinn Court in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Investigation revealed a 13-year-old Waldorf boy was involved in an argument with the victim, a 43-year-old Waldorf man, about the boy playing in the street. The boy chased the victim with a broom handle and then a knife before being disarmed by a neighbor. No one was injured. The accused was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault. POSSESSION OF ECSTASY: On March 17 at 9:08 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the Sheffield Community Center located at 4658 Sheffield Circle in Waldorf. Officers approached the vehicle, which was occupied by four individuals, and detected the odor of alcohol. All occupants of the car were under 21 years old. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected ecstasy in a drivers compartment. The driver, a 17-year-old Waldorf girl, was arrested and charged with possession of ecstasy. She was charged as a juvenile and released to a parent. Officer C. Caldwell investigated.
