St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Deputy David Corcoran conducted a theft investigation at a California Department Store. The investigation revealed that Suspect Charles Robert Tipton (Age 35 of California, Md.) had stolen a bottle of cologne valued at more than $56.00.

Chadd Everett Tuttle (Age 32 of Mechanicsville) was charged on a Criminal Summons for passing a worthless check having a value of more than $110.00. Deputy Marci Faulkner was the charging Deputy.

Deputy Shaun Carberry served a Criminal Summons on Kenneth Lee Childs (Age 38 of Lexington Park) for Theft under $100.00 and Theft Scheme over $500.00. Suspect Childs is the second party arrested in this theft scheme. Suspect Childs approached an employee of a Lexington Park grocery store and reminded him of a previous loan between the two. On several occasions the suspect entered the store and received items without paying for them as payment of the personal loan. The business accrued the cost of the stolen items.

George Robert Bush (Age 47 of Lexington Park) was observed by on lookers repeatedly striking a female victim and dragging her down the roadway by her hair. Deputies were on the scene within a minute of the 911 call for service. The victim refused to cooperate, however Deputies located an eyewitness. The witness advised that the victim screaming she was "sorry" as the suspect struck her several times with a closed fist. The victim was bleeding from her nose and mouth and refused medical treatment. Suspect Bush was arrested and charged with Assault Second Degree by Deputy Jaime Reithmeyer.

Garry Michael Roberts (Age 46 of White Plains, Md.) was arrested by Deputy Martin Mumper for an open warrant. The warrant was through Charles County District Court and was related to Forgery and Theft charges.

Marissa Jean Smith (Age 21 of Great Mills) was arrested by Deputy Joseph LaBrack for Theft over $500.00.

A 16 year old male juvenile from Great Mills was arrested on a "Retake" warrant. He was arrested by Deputy John Logalbo and transported to Cheltenham Male Youth Facility.
