MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Monday, March 5, 2007 at 12:33 am, Tpr McCartney initiated a traffic stop on a blue Honda CRV operating on Rt. 235 in California for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, Michael Jermaine Turner, 18, of Newburg. A check of MVA revealed Mr. Turner did not possess a driver's license and was placed under arrest. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Turner was in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a small bag of cocaine. Mr. Turner was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine and other traffic charges. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Monday, March 5, 2007 at 9:14 pm, Tpr. Shughart observed a red Dodge truck exceeding the posted speed limit on Rt. 235, in the area of Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Kevin Michael Elliott, 21, of Lexington Park. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from Mr. Elliott's person and from inside the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Elliott was found to be in possession of 28.7 grams of marijuana, CDS smoking device and a USN 250 digital scale. Mr. Elliott was arrested and charged for the possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 1:12 am, TFC Linger observed a brown Ford Explorer exceeding the posted speed limit on Rt. 237 in the area of Chancellor's Run Park. A routine traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Isaacier Alec McQueen, 32, of Loveville and the passenger, Marvin Lydell Somerville, 44, of Loveville. A MVA check revealed Mr. McQueen was driving without a driver's license and he was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. McQueen and Mr. Somerville were in possession of a CDS smoking device with cocaine residue. Both subjects were charged with possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 12:25 pm, Tpr. Pilkerton observed a red Saturn SL on Rt. 5 in Mechanicsville. The driver, Douglas Anthony Brooks, Jr., 21, of Washington D.C. was not restrained by his seat belt. A traffic stop was initiated for the violation. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, a partially burnt marijuana cigarette was found in the vehicle. Mr. Brooks was arrested for possession of CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 12:02 am, TFC Linger observed a green Toyota Camry exceeding the posted speed limit on Rt. 235 north of Rt. 237 in Lexington Park. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, David Lee Grollman, 31, of Baltimore. An odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, a plastic bag of marijuana and a CDS smoking device was located in the vehicle. Mr. Grollman was also in possession of Alprazolam. He was arrested for possession of marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and possession of Alprazolam. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, March 9, 2007 at 1:20 am, TFC Rezza observed a silver Toyota 4Runner weaving on north bound Rt. 4 north of Rt. 235 in California. A traffic stop was initiated for the violation. Contact was made with the driver, Carlton Everett Russell, 39 of St. Leonard. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Russell was arrested for driving under the influence. (0782002907) A search incident to the arrest also revealed Mr. Russell was in possession of marijuana and has been charged accordingly. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 2:17 am, TFC Quade observed a gold Cadillac Northstar on Rt. 235 n/o Lexington Park exceeding the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Glenn F. Fenwick, 45, of California. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Fenwick was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Friday, March 9, 2007 at 1:54 am, TFC Quade observed a green Plymouth Breeze traveling on southbound Rt. 235, south of Exploration Park Drive in Lexington Park with an equipment violation. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Christopher Darius Bolden, 23, of Lexington Park and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Bolden was arrested for driving under the influence. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Bolden was arrested for driving under the influence. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Bolden was in possession of marijuana and charged accordingly. The passenger, Mr. Cory Scott Ptaszynski was also in possession of a CDS smoking device and he was also arrested for possession of paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
