MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

PWID MARIJUANA: On 2-28, 9:39 PM, TPR Ewig responded to the Chesapeake Beach McDonald’s for a loitering complaint. While conducting a patrol check in the area, the 3 suspects were located behind a business on Harbor Road. Upon contact with them, TPR Ewig detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and four baggies of suspected marijuana were located on a 16-year-old juvenile. He was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. The other 2 youths were released without being charged. After processing, he was transported to the Cheltenham Youth Facility.

SHOPLIFTING: On 3-1, 2:08 PM, TPR Chirichella responded to the Prince Frederick Food Lion for a shoplifting complaint. Investigation revealed that Bruce Nathaniel Johnson, Jr., 24, of Prince Frederick, Corey Eric Gantt, 35, of Prince Frederick, and Monica Kathleen Stewart, 44, of Port Republic, had been observed by a store employee leaving the premises without paying for merchandise. The three were placed under arrest for theft (-$500). After processing, they were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF OXYCONTIN: On 3-2, 10:50 PM, Rt. 231, Prince Frederick, TPR Laziuck stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator, Raymond William Willard, 39, of Prince Frederick, was subsequently arrested for DUI. Incident to arrest, a non-labeled prescription bottle containing suspected oxycontin and a device used to inhale CDS were located on his person. He was additionally charged with possession of oxycontin, CDS paraphernalia, and removal of a prescription label. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

BURGLARY: On 3-4, 6:47 AM, TFC Whipp responded to an alarm at Wireless Works, Rt. 2, Owings. Investigation revealed that an unknown culprit had thrown a brick through the front door. Nothing has been reported stolen at this time. CIT is continuing the investigation.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: During the overnight hours of 3-4, an unknown culprit spraypainted graffiti on a door and wall to the State Highway Administration building in Sunderland. TFC Whipp is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF PERCOCET: On 3-5, 10:56 AM, Rt. 260, Owings, TFC Murphy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the occupant, TFC Murphy detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and an non-labeled prescription bottle containing suspected percocet was located in the vehicle. Arrested at that time for possession of percocet, CDS paraphernalia, and removal of a prescription label was Jemar Lynn Holloway, 21, of Annapolis. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 3-8, 1:38 AM, Rt. 260, Owings, TPR Stern stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Assisted by Deputy Windsor and K-9 Azor, CCSO, a CDS scan was conducted. After the dog alerted on the vehicle, a search was conducted. The search produced two CDS smoking devices containing suspected cocaine residue. Arrested at that time was Carl Sylvester Matthews, 52, of Upper Marlboro, for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
