LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff’ Office has charged a 20-year-old Waldorf man with falsely reporting a shooting in 2006.

Officers responded to Civista Medical Center in La Plata on Dec. 26, 2006 at 1:01 a.m. for the report of a man being treated there for a gunshot wound. The man was identified as Jonathan Lemar Robertson. Robertson told officers he was shot by an unknown suspect at a gas station in Waldorf.

On Feb. 19, 2007, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a criminal summons charging Robertson with providing a false statement to a police officer. The summons was served on Feb. 27.
